Single Quantum makes the world's fastest and most sensitive light sensors, limited only by the laws of physics! As a scale-up, we are growing steadily. We are servicing a growing customer base worldwide. We need a hands-on person who will work closely with our assembly teams to help the workflow go as smoothly and efficiently as possible. This position is based at our headquarters in Delft, with flexible working hours and the option to work 2–3 days per week (0.4 to 0.6 FTE).
What you will be doing
As a Production Assistant, you will be performing mostly hands-on tasks in our assembly lab, focusing on precision work with freshly fabricated detectors coming out of the cleanroom. This role demands the meticulous accuracy of a jeweler combined with the technical expertise required for high-tech systems.
Your key responsibilities include:
Carefully handling and inspecting detectors
Performing precise electrical measurements using a probe station
Conducting detailed inspections under a microscope
Soldering PCBs and assembling fine electronic components
Documenting activities to ensure process integrity
Maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient workspace
You will work as part of our Mounting & Bonding team, collaborating closely with nanofabrication and detector testing teams to deliver the highest-quality detectors.
Your profile and requirements
Your profile
Technical student (HBO, MBO) studying physics, electronics, or engineering.
Working proficiency in English; Dutch is a plus
Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Enjoy practical, proactive, and hands-on work in a lab environment
A high sense of responsibility and commitment to quality
Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
The following work experiences are a plus
Prior work as a mechanical craftsman, such as operating a mill, latch, etc.
Experience with a wire bonding machine.
Experienced in PCB handling
Note: This role is a part time position (0.4 to 0.6 FTE / 2 to 3 days a week)
